Nothing says high quality like custom woodwork, whether it is your kitchen cabinets, your furniture, or parts of your home like a carved handrail on a staircase. There are many companies that offer their services to design, manufacture, and install any specialty item you want.
Not only the inside of homes are on the list when it comes to want something customized from wood, boats and complete log homes also make that list. People who become craftsmen in this fine field really care about what they do and want their work to be recognized, and their customers to be more than satisfied with a job well done.
Many people want custom woodwork because of the look and feel of something natural, not some piece that comes off of an assembly line. When you find the right craftsman/woman you will see the attention that is paid to the detail of everything they do is incomparable.

If you are unsure about what you want in your home, but you know that you want natural wood, there are designers to help you with that. They can tell you what can be done and what cannot, they are trained in the art of color and what will look good with your home. This is a fine tuned craft and you will love the outcome.
If you are someone who loves the look of real wood in your home, office, car or boat, you can either hire someone to do all of the finishing and detailing for you, or you begin to learn the craft yourself. If you are going to try this yourself it is best to begin with small items, a few doll houses or birdhouses are perfect for the beginner.
You can hone your craft while working on the small details of the inside of a dollhouse. Make small detailed cabinet faces, and add furniture that you make by hand, fine tune your carving skills by working on chair railings for the walls. There are so many ways that you can help yourself learn this craft if that is what you want.
Even the untrained eye can tell a fine piece of craftsmanship when they see a detailed piece of wood. There are boats made entirely by hand, and yachts that have better woodwork than a lot of homes. To be able to do custom woodwork yourself is more than satisfying for you, it is beautiful to look at, made well, and will last for generations.

The 2011-2016 World Outlook for Custom Architectural Woodwork, Millwork, and Fixtures
by: Icon Group International
publisher: ICON Group International, Inc., published: 2011-01-20
ASIN: B004LGT6G8
price: $795.00 (new)
This econometric study covers the world outlook for custom architectural woodwork, millwork, and fixtures across more than 200 countries. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-a-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.
This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the 230 countries of the world). This study gives, however, my estimates for the worldwide latent demand, or the P.I.E., for custom architectural woodwork, millwork, and fixtures. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided across the world’s regional and national markets. For each country, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time (positive or negative growth). In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on international strategic planning at graduate schools of business.
